7 Items to Store in A Residential Safe

  • Sometimes it can be hard knowing just what you
should and shouldnt store in a safe. While you
can, of course, store whatever you want in your
safe provided its of value to you, you should
make sure the following 7 items are securely
stored in there before filling it with other
    things
  • 1.Important documents documents that contain
personal information such as birth certificates,
passports, wills, social security cards, bank
statements and drivers licenses, are best kept
in a safe, otherwise you could become the victim
of identity theft should a stranger gets their
    hands on them.

  • 2.Guns and ammunition while you might think
this to be obvious, you might be surprised at
just how many people dont secure their weapons
    in a gun safe.
  • 3.Backup hard drives while not everyone will
have a backup hard drive to protect their data if
their computer develops a problem, many folks
still do, and its important to keep it stashed
away where it cant be stolen or misused.
  • 4.Jewelry Burglars have always targeted jewelry
when breaking into peoples homes to steal
things, and if youve got any expensive or
sentimental items that you want to protect,
storing them in a safe is the best way to do so.

4
  • 5.Medication many homes throughout the US have
medical cabinets in which they keep their
medication and other important items of medical
value, and even though most are out of the reach
of small children, young adults can still help
themselves to it and burglars can reach right in
and take whatever they choose. With a growing
number of burglary cases centering around the
theft of high-end prescription drugs such as
Oxycontin and Ritalin, keeping that which you
dont need to access on a regular basis, should
ideally be kept under lock and key in a safe.
  • 6.Cash large sums of cash should never be left
sitting around in any home, no matter how well
hidden it might be, and if you dont want to keep
it in a bank account for any reason, you must
ensure that its protected in a high security
    safe.

5
  • 7.Power tools you might not automatically think
of keeping your power tools locked away in a
safe, but so many home burglaries involve the
theft of such items, and with some of them
costing a lot of money, its easy to see why.
Easy to grab and easy for a burglar to make a
quick buck on, power tools should be kept inside
    a residential safe.
