1
What are the different types of job opportunities
for electrical design engineers? Find out here!
  • Are you an electrical design engineer looking for
a new challenge? Check out these five different
types of design engineer job opportunities!

2
Microelectronics Engineer Is responsible for the
design and micro-fabrication of tiny electronic
circuit components. With a degree in electrical
engineering, design engineers have the
opportunity to work for a design firm, design and
develop microelectronic products.
3
Signal processing engineer Signal processing
engineers are concerned with signals, such as
analog or digital ones. Their work can vary from
developing long-term strategies for the overall
processing of signals to developing signal
processing algorithms, which are used in
applications where digital signals need to be
transformed into analog ones or vice versa, or
manipulated.
4
Electrician This position is in charge of
overseeing electricity and the design of related
electrical equipment such as transformers,
generators, motors, and power electronics. These
experts work with AC and DC power as well as the
related equipment.
5
Controls Engineer He/She controls the design of
controllers that control systems in a specific
manner, using micro-controllers, programmable
logic controllers, digital signal processors, and
electrical circuits.
6
Instrumentation Engineer Expertise in the field
of instrumentation engineering is required, which
includes designing pressure gauges, flow meters,
and thermometers. The design of these tools
requires a solid understanding of physics.
