electricity, though, it can be dangerous!

  • Children's Electricity Hazards
  • Some of you may have experienced an unpleasant
surprise when touching a doorknob or another
person. The shock you felt was caused by static
electricity. A real electric shock is
excruciatingly unpleasant and can kill you.
  • Electricity has the potential to produce serious
burns, deadly shocks, and even death.
  • The body's muscles tense, causing choking and
making it difficult for the youngster to breathe.
  • It disrupts the heartbeat, which constricts the
    blood vessels.
  • If electricity is not handled appropriately, it
can cause severe inside damage several hours
    after the shock has occurred.

Children's Electricity Safety Tips Because
humans are good conductors of electricity,
electricity flows freely through our bodies.
Water makes up about 70 of our bodies, and
electricity is known to flow swiftly via water.
Another thing to keep in mind is that electricity
will always seek the shortest path to the earth
or ground. To keep your youngster safe, consider
the following ideas.

  • At-Home Security
  • The home is a location where children's curiosity
is at its greatest. When your children are at
home, learn more about the electrical safety
    requirements.
  • La Palma CA playschool teachers suggest parents
allow children to never put their fingers or any
other thing into electrical outlets or light
    bulbs.
  • Even if they are turned off and not in use,
    babyproof small appliances like toasters.
  • Any electrical item should never be used near a
sink, bathtub, or other sources of water.
  • Electrical wires should be kept away from sinks,
bathtubs, and other water sources. They are a
choking threat for your child, in addition to
    producing shock.

  • Outdoor Security
  • In Preschools, children should go on their
exploring trips in the great outdoors. Make sure
those busy hands aren't getting electrocuted.
  • Climbing trees are OK if they are not near power
lines or have power lines running above them. If
your kids enjoy flying kites, keep them as far
away from the power lines as possible. If the
strings become entangled, electricity from the
power wires can flow through them, inflicting
    burns, or shocks.

  • During electrical storms, swimming should be
avoided. If you're wet, in the pool, or standing
in a puddle, don't touch any electrical
    appliances.
  • Never touch broken wires that are lying on the
ground. To avoid being electrocuted, keep a safe
    distance from such live lines.
  • Avoid venturing near electric substations and
don't try to scale the fences that surround them.
  • Do not toss anything on the power lines,
including shoes, footwear, or other materials.
  • No banners or signs should be hung on electric
    utility powerlines or poles.
  • Call for aid right away if you witness someone
getting an electric shock. Do not contact the
    individual.
