5 reasons to study in Germany
  • Germany is one of the most welcoming and pleasant
countries to live in. It's no surprise that
students from all over the world are clamoring to
get a place at a German institution. Let's find
    out why.

4
1. You will live in one of the most powerful and
well-governed countries on Earth
  • Okay, okay, this is perhaps not the most
attractive reason to move to a particular place,
and the German government is not without its
critics. But living in such an efficient and
organized place has positive things that are not
always easy to see or understand.
  • They have an excellent recycling program, clean
streets, reasonable expenses, low crime, and are
leaders in climate and energy policy. At least a
third of Germany is currently powered by
    renewable energy.
  • The labor market is also very strong and wages
are relatively high. If you can speak German or
have an EU passport, jobs can often be easy to
find, especially if you plan to stay in Germany
    for a while.
  • If not, don't worry, there are plenty of
opportunities for students to find short-term
work while in the country. Check out college job
centers and college newsletters to get started.

2. Historically significant and culturally diverse
  • Once again, she's not the most attractive, right?
"Historically significant". That's one of those
great phrases because it means different things
to different people. The story is what you make
of it and so on. But that's what's so great about
Germany. So much has happened there. There really
    is something there for everyone.
  • Germany is sometimes known as the "land of poets
and thinkers", or das land de dichter und denker
. Goethe, Hesse, Nietzsche, Marx, Hegel,
Beethoven, Bach, and the Brothers Grimm were all
German. And those are just the first that come to
mind. A place that produces so many great minds
must have some hidden secret, right?
  • It also has more cultural hotspots than any other
    country. With 6,200 museums, 820 theaters, 130
    professional orchestras, 8,800 libraries, and
countless places of historical importance, there
is much to absorb and learn here.
  • Also, football is amazing. And fashion. And
music. And the food... And the highways. You see?
    There is something for everyone.

3. Great place for foreign students
  • English is commonly spoken, and is frequently
taught in German primary and secondary schools.
It is estimated that about 56 of the population
have English as their language. Which is quite
useful if you are interested in learning English.
And let's face it, that should be everyone.
  • Germany has an excellent educational record.
Every German city you can think of has at least
one university ranked among the best in the
world. There are 15 German universities in the
top 250 in the world and 31 in the top 500. This
establishes that Germany is among the world's
higher education elite. Wherever you choose to
study, you will find a first class institution.
  • It should also be noted that the undergraduate
courses are free, even for international
students. Tuition fees are also quite low if you
are interested in a master's degree, or a short
    course.

4. You will develop as a person
  • Germans have a reputation for being quick,
efficient and calculating. They are also known to
have a very strong and contagious work ethic that
will make you better as a person and will help
not only in the workplace but also in your
personal life. You will gain these habits over
time, simply by being in Germany.

5. It's great! Haven't you heard how great
Germany is?
  • Berlin is the fashion capital of Europe, teeming
    with artists, musicians, students, backpackers,
expats, and other trailblazers of all shapes and
sizes. Leipzig has seen similar growth recently,
with a thriving creative scene, plenty of green
spaces, and a high quality of life. And coffees,
don't forget. Lots and lots of cafes.
  • Since the early 1990s, Germany has had something
of a cultural explosion, with young people, and
students in particular, at the forefront. Fashion
businesses, street art and a new wave of fashion
and design have made Germany one of the most
    popular places in Europe.
  • And if you ever worry that you're not trendy
enough to live there, just remember that these
people are some of the most loved and respected
    in all the land
