HANDICAP
A handicapped person is one who deviates from
normal health status either physically mentally
or socially and needs special care, treatment
and Education.

1.Physically Handicapped 2.Mentally Handicapped

PHYSICALLY HANDICAP Physically handicapped person
means an individual who has a physical
impairment, including impaired sensory, manual,
or speaking abilities, that results in a
functional limitation in gaining access to and
using a building, facility or structure.

  • Deafness
  • Speech Handicapped
  • Orthopedically handicapped

BLINDNESS
  • The term blindness covers a broad spectrum of
    visual disability, from when your sight is
    impaired enough to interfere with daily
    activities like reading, cooking or driving, up
    to total blindness

DEAFNESS
A person who is not able to hear as well as
someone with normal hearing. Deaf people mostly
have profound hearing loss, which implies very
little or no hearing. They often use sign
language for communication

SPEECH HANDICAP
A speech impairment is a condition in which the
ability to produce speech sounds that are
necessary to communicate with others is
impaired. Speech impairments can be mild, such
as occasionally mispronouncing a couple of
words, to severe, such as not being able to
produce speech sounds at all

ORTHOPEDICALLY HANDICAP
Orthopedically handicapped. Means a severe
orthopedic impairment which adversely affects a
childs educational performance. The term
includes impairments caused by congenital
anomaly (e.g., clubfoot )

Mentally handicapped Person means any individual
who suffers from mental disability of such a
nature which prevents him from carrying out
normal activities of life.

MENTAL RETARDATION
Mental retardation is a permanent condition
characterized by subaverage intelligence, which
causes limitations in learning and adaptive
functioning.

CEREBRAL PALSY
Cerebral palsy (CP) is a group of disorders that
affect a persons ability to move and maintain
balance and posture. CP is the most common motor
disability in childhood

SOCIALLY HANDICAP
  • Social Disability means any non- medical
    impairments or deficiencies which in combination
    with a medical disabil- ity further serve to
    limit employability.

  • Children of Divorced Parents

ORPHAN CHILDREN
An orphan is someone who has lost both parents.
Usually, we think of sad little children when
we think of orphans, but anyone whose parents
have both died is an orphan.

CHILD NEGLECT
  • A form of child abuse, child neglect is an act of
    caregivers that results in depriving a child of
    their basic needs, such as the failure to provide
    adequate supervision, health care, clothing, or
    housing, as well as other physical, emotional,
    social, educational, and safety needs .

CHILDREN OF DIVORCED PARENTS
Children from divorced families may experience
more externalizing problems, such as conduct
disorders, delinquency, and impulsive behavior
than kids from two-parent families. In addition
to increased behavior problems, children may
also experience more conflict with peers after a
divorce

CONCLUSION
Handicap develops as the consequence of the
disability. It is defined as a disadvantage for
a given individual resulting from impairment or
a disability that limits and prevents the
fulfillment of a role which is normal for that
individual, Depending on age social and cultural
factors.
