WELCOME TO STEP INTO YOURSELF, Our mission is to
empower individuals to navigate the challenges of
life with confidence and authenticity. We strive
to provide accessible and effective dialectical
behavioural therapy online, in a safe and
supportive environment. Our goal is to help
people develop a deeper understanding of
themselves, learn new skills, and cultivate a
sense of self-appreciation. We understand that
taking care of your mental health is crucial to
your overall wellbeing, and we're here to help.
We provide personalised DBT therapy services that
are tailored to your unique needs and
challenges. Our online therapy sessions offer a
convenient way for you to access our services
from the comfort of your own home, without having
to worry about travel or scheduling conflicts.
With flexible appointment times, including
evenings, we try to make it easy for you to fit
therapy into your busy schedule. We believe that
everyone deserves access to quality mental health
care, which is why our rates are affordable and
offer a sliding scale.

ABOUT
Step Into Yourself is an online therapy service
specialising in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy
and was founded in 2021 by Raquel Ortega. This
service was established shortly after the only
existing public DBT service in West London was
decommissioned. As a staff member of this
previous clinic, Raquel was deeply aware of the
desperate need for this therapeutic modality in
the region. With the availability of long-term
mental health services declining, individuals
face waiting over two years to access NHS
services. Step Into Yourselfs goal is to
mitigate this problem. We are proud to say we
dont have any waiting list (for now!) and that
individuals can start therapy within 24 hours of
their initial consultation. Unlike other
services, we do not cap how many sessions an
individual may have. We endeavour to continue
sharing DBT skills to help people live a life
worth living!

OUR PROGRAM
  • ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
  • Our DBT program for adults is designed for people
    ages 18 who struggle with their emotions,
    experience self-defeating thoughts and unhealthy
    behaviours that get in the way of them feeling
    and functioning at their best. It is an effective
    treatment option for people who experience
    anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties
    and lack of motivation.
  • In DBT you will
  • Complete weekly diary cards aimed at providing a
    summary of your emotions, urges and behaviours -
    a process known to increase motivation for
    change.
  • Begin to understand yourself better by exploring
    specific emotional, mental and behavioural
    patterns in order to discover how to anticipate
    them and cope more effectively.
  • Learn and practice coping skills that improve the
    way you experience, manage and express difficult
    emotions so that they begin to interfere less
    with your life.
  • Work collaboratively with your therapist to
    eliminate any barriers to your participation and
    motivation in therapy, to ensure successful
    progress in your therapy goals.
  • DBT is more likely to work for you if
  • youre interested in learning skills to improve
    your life.
  • you're committed to making positive changes in
    yourself.
  • you're ready to work hard at therapy, and do
    homework assignments.
  • you're ready to focus mostly on your present and
    future, rather than your past.

With DBT, youll learn to use four core skills,
sometimes called modules, to help reshape your
life. The four skills are the active
ingredients of DBT.
