Early Stage Symptoms
  • In the early stages, cirrhosis may not cause any
    symptoms. However, as the disease progresses, you
    may experience the following
  • Fatigue
  • Weakness
  • Loss of appetite
  • Nausea
  • Weight loss
  • Pain or discomfort in the upper right abdomen

Later Stage Symptoms
  • As cirrhosis progresses, you may experience more
    serious symptoms, including
  • Jaundice, a yellowing of the skin and eyes
  • Fluid buildup in the abdomen (ascites)
  • Swelling in the legs and ankles (edema)
  • Easily bleeding or bruising
  • Confusion or difficulty thinking
  • Dark urine
  • Pale stools

Complications
  • Cirrhosis can also lead to a number of
    complications, including
  • Varicose veins in the esophagus or stomach, which
    can rupture and cause bleeding
  • Liver failure
  • Liver cancer
