1
The Top 5 Ways To Clean Stains From Synthetic
Carpets
2
Never Rub, Blot Instead
No matter what kind of spill it is, please resist
the urge to rub it! Friction can spread the stain
and damage the carpet fibers even further. Grab a
clean, absorbent cloth (white is best to avoid
color transfer) and carefully blot the stain.
Work from the outside inwards, applying gentle
pressure to lift the stain without pushing it
deeper into the carpet fibers.
3
Baking Soda For Greasy Affairs
For greasy spills or oily marks, there is nothing
better than baking soda. Sprinkle a generous
amount over the stain and let it sit for at least
30 minutes. The powder absorbs oils and lifts
them from the carpet fibers. Then, vacuum up the
powder thoroughly. For stubborn spots, consider a
carpet stain removal products specifically
curated for grease. Look for products that break
down greasy residues for more effective cleaning.
4
Plain Water- The Powerful Agent
Believe it or not, plain water can often be your
hero for fresh, water-based stains like juice or
coffee. Just dampen a clean cloth with cool water
and blot continuously. Change the cloth often to
avoid redepositing the stain. For optimal
results, use distilled water to prevent mineral
residue from further staining the carpet.
5
Fresh Stains? Grab A Club Soda
Fresh food or drink spills often respond well to
club soda. The gentle fizz helps lift the stain
without harsh chemicals. Pour a small amount of
club soda directly onto the stain and blot with a
clean, absorbent cloth. Repeat until the stain is
gone. Remember, for tougher stains that club soda
can't handle, a carpet stain removal product
might be a better option.
6
Vinegar-The Magic Cleaner!
White vinegar can be a natural stain fighter for
synthetic carpets, but always do a patch test on
an inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn't
discolor the fibers. If no discoloration occurs,
mix cool water and white vinegar in a spray
bottle. Lightly mist the stain and blot it with a
clean cloth. Rinse the area with clean water
afterward to remove any vinegar residue, as
vinegar's acidity can damage carpet fibers over
time.
