- During the 20th WP 8F meeting in Denver, the task
assigned to AH-Circular Letter was as follows - to refine its Terms of Reference
- to develop the structure of the Circular Letter
on an invitation to propose candidate radio
interface technologies for IMT-Advanced - to develop its micro workplan for the development
of the Circular Letter. - AH-Circular Letter carried forward the input
contributions, output Document 8F/TEMP/468 and
467 to the 21st WP 8F meeting. - AH-Circular Letter encouraged Members further to
submit contributions on the revision of the
Circular Letter structure and a new proposal for
its text at the 21st WP 8F meeting.

5Circular Letter in the standardization progress
of IMT-Advanced
- It is a key starting point and considered as the
transition work between the ITU-R WP8F works
before WRC-07 and the ITU-R WP8F works after
WRC-07. - It is an invitation to propose candidate radio
interface technologies for IMT-Advanced. - It will need the coordination with the expertise
of the existing WGs SERVICES, TECHNOLOGY, and
SPECTRUM. - It will also refer to some existing and on going
Recommendations, Reports and other WP8F Documents
for IMT-Advanced. - It will be finally sent out to Member States,
Sector Members and Associates of Study Group 8,
and additionally to the external organizations
for an invitation to propose candidate radio
interface technologies for IMT-Advanced in 2008. - It will provide basis for the subsequent
evaluation activities, including proposals
submission, evaluation, consensus building, and
specifications establishment.
