9TESTING AND APPROVAL
- Testing of CPEs is currently being under taken by
telecom network operators, - CPEs are tested in accordance with MC 02-01-2001
Revised Customer Premises Equipment Interface
Standards Procedure for Type Approval Type
Acceptance - Any equipment that has change in its interface
parameters is subjected for re-testing and
issuance of new type approval certificate - costs
- - test costs vary from product to product
10ACCREDITATION OF SUPPLIERS AND DEALERS
Accreditation of RCE and CPE suppliers is
required to ensure that only those type
approved/accepted equipment are sold, operated
and connected to public networks and/or used for
private networks. Accreditation certificate is
granted to persons, entities, corporation that
have met the minimum requirements as follows
- minimum paid-up capital of
PhP250,000.00 - one (1) duly licensed
Electronics Communications Engineer
employed by the supplier on a full time basis
11ACCREDITATION OF SUPPLIERS AND DEALERS
Cont. of Suppliers Accreditation
- two(2) qualified electronic and/or radio
communication technicians employed by the
supplier on a full time basis - stock of
spare parts sufficient for at least two (2) years
or in accordance with the equipment
manufacturers recommendation - valid
distributorship agreement on CPEs/RCEs to be
sold and - proof that the CPE/RCE to be sold
are duly type approved/accepted The
Commission maintains a list of type
approved/accepted RCEs and CPEs.
12SUMMARY
- Type approval is mandatory for every terminal
equipment intended for connection to public
telecommunication networks - Only type-accepted /approved radio equipment is
allowed for licensing - Type Approval testing of CPEs is done by network
operators. For RCEs, it is done by the NTC or
its designated testing centers. - Type Acceptance Certificate is issued to a radio
equipment that emits radiowave within the
frequency and power range allocated by the
Commission and that it has been type approved by
recognized foreign approval (certification)
bodies. - Accreditation is required for RCE and CPE
suppliers
