• Pre-service teachers reporting not well prepared
  for technology integration (Willis Mehlinger,
  2006 NCES, 2001)
• Technology courses were not integrated with
  students curriculum

• Seniors in English Literature and Language at
  Hebei Teacher University
• 55 students invited
• 52 responses
• 43 females
• 9 males
• Two months practicing teaching

Conclusions

• Students had positive attitude toward technology
  integration into classroom instruction
• Students were able to use technology for
  entertainment and learning purposes
• Students had limited knowledge of using
  technology for productive work (word, slides,
  webpage, etc)

Recommendations

• Developing a national standard on technology
  integration curriculum for teacher education
  programs
• Providing specific requirement about
  technology-related skills and techniques for
  teacher education programs
• Faculty professional development should cover
  content of technology integration
• More investment in technology in education
