What is MVRT?
  • Established in 1997-1998
  • Group of 60-70 students that combine their
    ingenuity to achieve a common goal...
  • Students inspired to use their imagination to
    create the vision of tomorrow
  • A team that withstands hardships and difficulties
    to build a masterpiece to the best of their
    ability

History
  • Founded in 1998.
  • Since then, the MVRT have received several
    awards, and have made it to Nationals multiple
    times in recent years
  • The MVRT received an honorable 3rd place at
    nationals 4 years ago, and 1st place at the
    Silicon Valley Regional
  • Has mentored many teams
  • Kehillah, Saratoga, Homestead, Harker, and
    Lynbrook High Schools
  • Began mentoring Lego League
  • Lego league is a group of 10 middle students
    that do similar tasks as Robotics does, but at a
    Junior High level
  • Has cooperated one-on-one with trained
    professionals

    mentors, companies that have helped out the team)

Funding
  • MVRT has received major funding through corporate
    grant applications
  • Corporate funding has significantly decreased in
    the last two years
  • MVRT has also received many corporate matches
    in the past
  • MVRT also readily accept donations
  • these donations are tax deductible

  • The teams main method of communication
  • All members will be invited to join the MVRT115
    Yahoo Group
  • All team updates will be sent out to all students
    via Yahoo Groups
  • The Yahoo Group is done through email

Time Commitment
  • Once the build season begins Engineering members
    will be at school at least till 6 PM
  • During the last 2 - 3 weeks of the build we will
    be working till 8 PM on certain days
  • We continue working everyday of the week for 6
    weeks including weekends and the February Winter
    Break
  • If you is fall behind in school because of
    Robotics, we will send you home. Performing well
    in school is every students first priority.

Dinners Snacks
  • We will have a snack schedule where all members
    staying after school will be required to bring
    snacks for the other students at least twice.
  • Engineering members will also be eating dinners
    at school nearing the end of the build
  • Snack and Dinner schedules will be organized
