and Job Club at Shawnee Heights High School. The
Cookie Shack provides students with functional
life and job skills. Once proficient in job place
skills students have the opportunity to use their
skills in a community workplace setting. We are
raising money for community based education and
hands on learning experiences. Thank you for

Minestrone Soup5.00
  • In a very large saucepan combine 8 to 10 cups of
    water, a 28 oz. can of crushed tomatoes, and soup
    mix. Add 2 chopped carrots, and 2 to 4 chopped
    potatoes (optional 2 cups chopped cabbage).
    Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer
    for one hour or until peas are tender. Enjoy

Taco Bean Chili5.00
  • 1 jar Taco Bean Chili Mix
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green
    chiles (RoTel), undrained
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey, browned and
    drained (optional)
  • Shredded cheese, chopped lettuce, sliced black
    olives (optional)Remove tortilla chips and
    seasoning packet from jar mix. Set aside.Place
    beans in large bowl. Cover with water. Soak 6 to
    8 hours or overnight. To quick-soak beans, place
    beans in large saucepan cover with water. Bring
    to a boil over high heat. Boil 2 minutes. Remove
    from heat let soak, covered, 1 hour. Drain
    beans, discard water.Place soaked beans, water,
    tomatoes, tomato sauce, ground beef and contents
    of seasoning packet in Dutch oven. Bring to a
    boil over high heat. Cover. Reduce heat and
    simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until beans are
    tender.Crush tortilla chips. Stir into chili
    and cook 5 to 10 minutes to thicken. Serve with
    cheese, lettuce and olives, if desired. Makes 6
    to 8 servings.

Confetti Bean Soup5.00
  • Set aside bouillon cube and bay leaf and choose
    method to soakbeans.
  • Quick soak Rinse and sort beans in a large pot.
    Add 6-8 cups of hot water. Bring to a rapid boil,
    and boil for 2 minutes.? Remove from heat. Cover
    and let stand for 1 hour. Drain soak water and
    rinse beans.
  • Overnight soak Rinse and sort beans in a large
    pot. Add 6-8 cups cold water. Let stand
    overnight, or at least 6 to 8 hours. Drain soak
    water and rinse beans.
  • To cook Place beans in a large pot. Add
  • 6 cups water1 can (14 oz.) chopped tomatoes in
    juicebay leafbouillon cube
  • Simmer gently until beans are tender, about 2
    hours. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

  • Recipe Instructions
  • Empty jar of cookie mix into mixing bowl blend
    thoroughly.
  • Add 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened, 1
    beaten egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix until
    completely blended.
  • Roll into 1-inch balls, and place 2 inches apart
    on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees
    until edges are lightly browned, about 12 to 14
    minutes.
  • Cool on cookie sheet for five minutes, then
    transfer to wire racks. Makes 2 1/2 dozen
    cookies.

Double Chocolate Brownies with Pecans
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease one 9x9
    baking pan.
  • Pour the contents of the jar into a large bowl
    and mix well.
  • Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla, 2/3 cup vegetable oil
    and 3 eggs. Beat until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake at
    350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.

Chocolate pecan brownies with white and milk

Confetti Cornbread Mix
  • Recipe Instructions
  • 2 cups Texas Cornbread Mix1 egg1 cup milk1/4
    cup soft shortening (Crisco)
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Grease one 8-inch
    square pan, or 8-inch cast iron skillet, or cast
    iron cornbread mold.
  • Place cornbread mix into bowl, mix thoroughly.
    Add egg, milk and shortening. Hand-beat until
    smooth, about one minute. DO NOT OVERBEAT!
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes for pan or skillet, 15
    to 20 minutes for cornbread mold.

Dog Treats with Dog Bone Cookie Cutter - 5.00
  • Recipe Instructions
  • Preheat oven to 250 Fahrenheit.
  • Empty jar mix into a bowl. Stir together two eggs
    and ½ cup of hot water and add to mix. Combine
    with a fork until a stiff dough forms. Add a
    little flour or water if dough is too sticky or
    too dry to work.
  • Roll out dough on floured board to ½ inch
    thickness. Dip cookie cutters in flour before
    cutting out each cookie. A bone shaped cutter is
    preferred, but any shape will do. Re-roll the
    leftovers and cut as many cookies as possible.
  • You can place cookies close together on a baking
    sheet as they will not spread while baking. Bake
    for about 90 minutes, or until cookies are dry
    and hard, turning pan around at half time to
    ensure even cooking. You can turn off the heat,
    but leave the cookies in the oven to dry out
    without further cooking if necessary. Dog cookies
    are usually baked until they are hard and
    crunchy. Let cool completely before storing in an
    airtight jar.

  • To make put ¼ cup of tea mixture in a mug and add
    1 cup of hot water. Stir until dissolved.
  • Makes approximately 16 servings

  • Just add 4 Tablespoons of hot chocolate mix to 1
    cup of hot water. Adjust the amount to suit your
    taste.
  • Optional top with marshmallows.

Fireside Cappuccino5.00
  • Cappuccino with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • Just add 2 Tablespoons of this tasty cappuccino
    to 1 cup of hot water. Adjust the amount to suit
    your taste.
  • Optional top with whipped cream and/or shaved
    chocolate
  • Makes approximately 32 servings.

Mexican Fiesta Mix5.50
  • Makes 2 cups
  • 3 tablespoons Mexican Fiesta Dip Mix
  • 1 cup mayonnaise or low fat mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream or low fat yogurt
  • In a medium mixing bowl combine the Dip Mix with
    the mayonnaise and sour cream. Whisk the mixture
    until smooth. Refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours. Serve
    with tortilla chips or fresh vegetables.

1 Pint jar will make approximately 10 batches of
dip.

Dill Dip Mix5.50
  • combine 2 tablespoons mix with 1 cup sour cream
    and one cup Miracle Whip in a small bowl.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the
    flavors to blend. This makes an excellent
    vegetable dip as well as one for chips.

1 Pint jar will make approximately 10 batches of
dip.

  • This tasty mix can be used for a spicy salsa or a
    spread.
  • For salsa blend 2 tablespoons of mix with one
    10 ounce can of Mexican-style tomatoes.
  • For a spread blend 2 tablespoons of salsa mix
    with 1 cup of softened cream cheese.
