- Glace Bay has a higher smoking rate than Canada,
N.S., and Cape Breton. - Self-rated health status in Glace Bay is good
though it tends to be rated more favorably in
other regions - Males have a slightly higher rate of smokers and
younger males smoke more per day than similar
aged females. - The smoking rate among unemployed is about 50
higher, and the group smokes 40 more per than
employed per day, compared with employed - University graduates have lowest smoking rate
community college the highest - Glace Bay smokers show higher nicotine dependence
(based on early morning smoking) compared with
N.S. and Canada.
