Facts to the recent situation in Austria
  • 1 940 young people took part in an integrative
    professional training during the year of 2005
  • 9 of them were diagnosed with a handicap
  • FSW is the co-ordinator and promoter of
    special work areas creation of independence and
    autonomy

Definition The Fond of Social Affairs in Vienna
(FSW)
  • Its an organisation that currently operates
    eight health care and social senses in different
    regions of Vienna, dealing with all persons in
    need such as people with handicaps, old people
    and on the whole people who need social support

Process for a handicapped adolescent to become a
skilled worker
  • pupils with special educational promotion need,
    negative graduation marks or other difficulties
    in finding a job and getting professional
    training
  • they go to the FSW
  • FSW places them in an apprenticeship training
    program
  • These apprenticeship training programs carry out
    the Clearing Process
  • Allocation to the apprenticeship training
    position depending on ressources and abilities
  • Start of the apprenticeship
