Gateway Drugs
  • This is important because the gateway drug
    progression suggests that initiation and
experimental use of tobacco, alcohol and
marijuana lead not only to heavy and problematic
use of such drugs. It also increases the chance
that other drugs will be used (experimented with)
    and later abused.

Discussion Time!
  • At your table discuss your thoughts/notes from
    the re-occurring questions regarding
  • Common situations?
  • What is missing?

26
Why is this important?
  • This impacts all of us
  • As an experience in the past
  • A current challenge
  • A concern for tomorrow
  • Hope for the near future
  • Simply, we are all connected to youth growing up
    in the valley.
