  • Its likely that front end boards for LAr will
    need to be redesigned to meet radiation
    tolerance, rate and shaping requirements for
    SLHC.
  • SiGe bipolar is being explored for the inner
    detector offers a potentially ideal technology
    for a next generation front end.
  • Low rb ? good noise performance
  • Hi Gm/Ic ? best current gain vs power
    technology.
  • Mixture of bipolar with CMOS ? excellent for
    analog design
  • Lateral PNPs ?? Possibly rad hard enough
    for LAr.
