Gods missionary heart We believe that Gods
desire is that none should perish 2 Peter
39 We believe that God is stirring the hearts of
his people to create new ways of reaching those
who have not heard the good news We believe that
the next wave of fresh expressions of Church will
be led by tentmakers in new and alongside
settings

A nation in need We also know that fewer and
fewer of our friends and family are being reached
by the kinds of Churches that we are currently
part of Less than 11 of the population are
regularly in Church In some places in Glasgow
that figure drops to less than 1 of the
population The poor, the young and men are least
likely to be being reached with the gospel.

The time for radical action has arrived We need
to plant churches which reach particular people
groups as well as all age churches We need to
stop starting with the Church its needs, its
ways of doing things and start starting with
the lost with the clubbers, shoppers, football
fans, young mums, Goths and all the 100s of
sub-cultures that our society is now throwing up!

Invest offers three training options Invest run a
year long course for those interested in learning
to lead a new pattern of Church on a spare time
basis Invest are planning a week long (study
leave) intensive course for those looking at how
to plant something new alongside the existing
pattern Invest offer day events on church
planting and emerging church Sat 24th Feb 2007
will be the first of these held in Glasgow

Invest Year

• Invest year long training and mentoring
  programme gives people the chance to learn at
  first hand how to plant culturally relevant
  expressions of Church.
• Invest allows people to identify their gifts and
  abilities then use them to the greatest effect.
• Invest will tap into the wider network of Church
  Planting resources building a strong support and
  development element in the years to come.

Invest Year

• Training input - induction week four further
  weekend as well as working on your own portfolio
  of key elements of Church Planting throughout the
  year
• Mentoring both together with other students in
  group sessions as well as with an experienced
  Church Planting practitioner
• Ministry Placement within a live Church
  planting context

Invest Year Who is it for?

• Invest is aimed at those who have a desire to be
  involved in pioneering new expressions of Church.
  
• People who sense that this is a time to invest
  in a season of testing out their calling, growing
  skills and stretching their understanding.

Invest Year - Where will it lead?

• Invest is not a formal Church of Scotland
  training course but is supported by the Mission
  Evangelism Task Group
• Two of last years Invest students are planting
  with Urban Expression in one of the poorest areas
  of the east end of Glasgow
• Another student is leading a new Youth
  Congregation in Whiteinch, Glasgow.
• For another of the students he is going to work
  in Outer Mongolia planting churches!
• For you it could be anywhere!

Invest Intensive

• Invest Intensive will be a week long (study
  leave) course for those looking at how to plant
  something new alongside the existing pattern
• With visits to current examples and input from
  Church Planting practitioners this course will be
  helpful for those thinking about creating
  something new alongside the old

Invest Days

• Invest day events on church planting and
  emerging church will tell the stories of some of
  the new patterns of Church that are emerging
  around the country.
• Designed to inspire and encourage people to
  dream the dream and then make it a reality
  there will be events planned through the year and
  around the country.
• Sat 24th Feb 2007 will be the first of these
  held in Glasgow
