ScanTEK Living with Science Overview
2
What is ScanTEK Living with Science?
  • Computer-Aided Hands-On Student-Centered
  • Supplemental Science Program
  • Step 1 Students view a video or animation on a
    concept along with vocabulary
    development
  • Step 2 Hands-on Component
  • Step 3 Checks for Understanding
    (3-4 questions)
  • Students work in pairs.
  • Students complete the Pre-tests and Post-tests
    individually.

3
More
  • After students complete the task, they can READ
    science books
  • If an assignment is not finished, they suspend
the assignment until the next time they attend
    the lab
  • Vocabulary notebooks should be kept
  • As students complete lessons, they receive a
    summary screen with data
  • Children should be trained to raise their hands
and call the teacher to discuss the data
  • During assessments, students should not be
allowed to use headphones so that they have to
read the questions themselves (closer to actual
    testing conditions)
