2Introduction
Most switches Require residual motor function
Hitachi, Ltd.
Progressive diseases (ex. ALS) require device
modifications
Our method Doesnt require residual motor
function
3Sympathetic Skin Response(SSR)
- reflects the activity of the sympthetic
- nervous system
- is affected by cognitive thinking and
- decision making
- does not depend on residual motor function

13Conclusion
- Display luminance should be adjusted
- subjectively
- Little influence of character size and shape on
the SSR - There is a possible of choosing character(kana)
by using SSR for ALS patients
- Future work Research the influence of sound and
emotion on SSR and eventually develop an SSR
input assisting device.
