BACKGROUND
  • The Hibiscus Award was first launched in 1996 as
    the premier private sector environmental award in
    Malaysia
  • With the support of the Prime Minister, the Award
    was upgraded to be the Prime Ministers Hibiscus
    Award in 1998

  • To monitor the overall implementation of the Award

STEERING COMMITTEE
OBJECTIVES
  • To administer and monitor the Prime Ministers
    Hibiscus Award through the preparation of a
    schedule of activities for implementation of each
    Award cycle
  • To provide guidance and support to the Technical
    Committee on the assessment of participants of
    the Award and act as the liaison point between
    the Organising Committee and the Technical
    Committee

OBJECTIVES (cont.)
  • To administer the Award in developing the
    budgeted income and expenditure, maintaining a
    system of accounts, and implementing the
    activities as scheduled
  • To report to the Organising Committee the status
    of implementation of the schedule of activities
    on a periodic basis

TECHNICAL COMMITTEE
OBJECTIVES
  • To establish and review the assessment process of
    the Award and analyse the results of assessment.
  • To continuously review and improve the criteria
    for Stage 1 and 2 assessment.
  • To establish and review the qualifications and
    competence of assessors and to select the
    assessors.
