Overview COE
  • VA Austin Automation Center is a Center of
    Excellence (COE) for IT Acquisitions in FY 2006
  • What does it mean? COE will have the authority
    to solicit, award, and administer VA-wide IT
    contracts
  • Part of VA CIOs organization
  • COE is evolution of OAMM partnership (since
    2001)
  • COE adds value by specializing in IT acquisitions
  • COE will use best practices to provide
    streamlined acquisition services
  • Unlimited procurement authority to meet the needs
    of internal customers (VHA, VBA, NCA, OIT) and
    external customers (OGAs)
