• Simulates clinical situations
• Provides fresh samples for clinical pathology
• Allows students to work with different
  personalities of animals

• Encourages to students to become efficient
• Challenges students to use proper psychological
  restraint as well as physical restraint

• Pros
• Works well to demonstrate mechanics of technique
• Good if students are allowed access to models to
  practice
• Cost for homemade models is modest

• Cons
• Cost of prepared models is high
• Cost of replacement parts on prepared models
  moderate
• Realism is questionable
• Time it takes to develop homemade models
