7
Key points of the situation in NIS countries
  • Lack of the independent information about
medicines as for the health care professionals as
    well for the consumers.
  • Lack of critical review during the drug
    registration from the drug authorities
  • Weak/lack contact and therefore insufficient
information sharing between drug agencies about
    ADR, counterfeits products etc.

8
Key points of the situation in NIS countries
  • Pharmacovigilance - Incomplete and Inconsistent
    official information during the registration
of medicines provided by the pharmaceutical
    companies
  • Weak/lack of ADR reporting system
  • MEDEX published a few reviews about double
    standard information provided by pharmaceutical
    companies Nimesulid, Azitromycinum, Loperamid.
  • The problems are considered not only about ADR,
but about dosages and duration of treatment
course, indicators for paediatric use etc.

9
Key points of the situation in NIS countries
  • Lack of the transparency of Regulatory Agencies
  • Financial interest as many medicines are
registered as much money the drug regulation
    agency will receive.
  • International experience, knowledge and practice
are remaining unknown mainly because of
    insufficient independent sources of drug
    information on appropriate language.
