Professional Development and Assessment Program
(PDAP)
  • Program purpose
  • Ensure safe and effective pharmacy practice
    outcomes
  • Promote continuous learning and professional
    development
  • Pharmacists must have an opportunity to
    demonstrate their public accountability
    (essential to self-regulation)

PDAP
  • Six-year cycle
  • One-half the membership selected every 3 years
    (2003, 2006)
  • Three phases
  • If standard met in Phase 1 (over 90), then
    program requirements met for the six-year cycle

Phase 1
  • If you meet the standard on either of these
    assessments, you will meet Program requirements
    for a six-year period (until August 2012)
  • If you do not meet the standard, you will enter
    Phase 2 to complete another assessment (including
    self assessment)

  • Professional Development and Secondary Assessment
  • Assessment options
  • Learning and Practice Portfolio
  • Knowledge Assessment
  • Practice Audit (fee)
  • Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)
    (fee)

Phase 3
  • Individualized remediation and reassessment
  • Peer Practice Committee and College staff will
    review your assessment results and work with you
    to develop an individualized remediation program
    and define your re-assessment requirements
  • Participants will be required to cover all
    relevant assessment, remediation and transfer
    fees
