    process and types of awards, and to encourage you
    to participate by submitting award nominations
  • Objective of Awards Program Advance the
    engineering profession by emphasizing meritorious
    achievement

  • EWRI awards

ASCE Awards
  • Details of Society awards including eligibility
    requirements, nomination process, and deadlines
    are in the ASCE Official Register and at

    http//content.asce.org/handa/
  • Most ASCE awards are bestowed annually
  • Award presentations generally at EWRI annual
    Congress or a specialty conference held by an
    EWRI Council
  • Nominations are submitted to Jane Alspach,
    Manager, ASCE Honors and Awards
  • Nomination deadline generally November 1
  • Requires approval of the ASCE Board of Direction

New Institute Award

  • This endowed award will be made annually for
    the Best Practice-Oriented Paper published in the
    ASCE Journal of Water Resources Planning and
    Management.

  • My personal pet peeve Should not submit
    individuals for multiple awards for the same body
    of work. Be selective in the award nomination
    process.

    afternoon
  • Rather than thinking about starting new awards,
    think about more effectively using the awards
    that we already have in place
