Compliance
  • Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act
  • goal to eliminate barriers in information
    technology, to make available new opportunities
    for people with disabilities, and to encourage
    development of technologies that will help
    achieve these goals.
  • Senate Bill 302 was passed by the California
    Legislature in 2003

Why is 508 important?
  • 20 of the American population has a disability.
    (the elderly included) Thats approximately 49
    million.
  • You or a loved one may need access to technology
    due to a disability.
  • Money matters, and these individuals control
    approximately 175 Billion in discretionary funds
