  • What are the expectations and responsibilities of
    your office?

Communication Is Key !
  • Your primary responsibility is to communicate
    information to and from your members!
  • Questions, concerns and monthly reports up the
    Chain of Communication to your VFC and SO-MS or
    Division Staff Officer.
  • Dissemination of information from District
    Division to your members at monthly Flotilla
    meetings.

Member Training Is Essential !
  • Begin with yourself!
  • DSO-MS requests that all MS Staff Officers take
    IMSEP, Good Mate and ICS 100, 200, 700 800
    online to have minimal knowledge of MS/MEP.
  • Provide Flotilla training in MS/MEP areas and
    opportunities to members.
  • Encourage participation in MS/MEP activities.
    Lead by example!

  • National M Department website found at
    uscgaux.org check it out and use it!
  • Your SO-MS (or Division Staff Officer) and DSO-MS
    communicate with them!
  • Safety Lines the national M newsletter,
    found on the website read it!
  • Trident training program get involved!

AUX FSO-MS PQS
  • List of goals for FSOs-MS to achieve
  • Maximize personal effectiveness as FSO-MS
  • Provide Flotilla member training in M areas
  • Involve Flotilla members in M activities and
    programs
  • Create a Division-wide M network
  • Work toward personal M goals

Trident Ultimate M Training
  • Minimum 4 year commitment
  • Training includes
  • Education 8 courses
  • 4 Personal Qualification Standards
  • 4 years of service in M activities
  • Trident Training Ribbon after completion of 8
    courses
  • Provisional Trident Award after completion of 4
    PQSs Permanent award upon completion of all
    requirements

M Is Multidisciplinary
  • M activities may be included in PA, PE, VE,
    RBVP and Operations
  • There are opportunities for everyone regardless
    of their areas of interest, age or physical
    capabilities
  • Trained members may be requested to assist Sector
    M departments in specific areas as needs arise
    or in surge conditions
