Mandatos con Usted (Polite)
To form Usted commands with regular verbs drop
the -o of the present-tense yo form and add the
following endings. For -ar verbs we add -e
for er/ir verbs we add-a. (like el subjuntivo)

Cante una canción. Coma las uvas. Abra la
boca. Lave la ropa. Beba el refresco. Escriba la
carta.

GRAMÁTICA
To tell a person to do something use an
affirmative command. Tú commands are used with
friends or family. The regular tú command is the
same as the él/ella form of the present tense.

If you use a command with a direct object

Negative tú Commands
GRAMÁTICA
When you tell someone what not to do use a
negative command. Negative tú commands are formed
by taking the yo form of the present tense
dropping the -o and adding the appropriate ending.
