Apple Blossom
  • Michigan ranks high among the states in apple
    production.
  • The apple blossom has been our state flower since
    1897.

  • Michigan named the American robin as its state
    bird in 1931.
  • Wisconsin and Connecticut also have the robin as
    their state bird.

  • Kalkaska Sand is a unique type of soil with
    distinctive layers.
  • It was identified as a special type of soil in
    1927
  • It became the official state soil in 1990.
