• The main job of the skeleton is to provide
  support for our body. Without your skeleton your
  body would collapse into a heap. Your skeleton is
  strong but light. Without bones you'd be just a
  puddle of skin and guts on the floor.

• The out side part of the of bone is called the
  periosteum
• The next layer is made up of compact bone
• Within the compact bone are many layers of
  cancellous
• The adult body has 206 bones

WHAT COULD GO WRONG WITH MY BODY SYSTEM?

• You have to protect those skull bones inside
  wearing a helmet when you bike
• Broken bones are a common problem and then you
  cant walk or move
• When a bone breaks it is called a fracture
• The doctor can put you in a caste

• If your skeleton did not exist, it could not
  protect your organs.
• You could not move and you would be a big blob of
  muscle and tissues and you could not live.
