LE PÔLE MER
The Pole MER PACA, a competitiveness cluster,
brings together key players from the worlds of
industry, research centers and universities
working in a same area the sea. Created in
2005 in the aim of increasing the competitiveness
of PACA industries thanks to cooperative projects
(at least 2 companies and one research center).
The Pole MER PACA is one of the 66 french
competitiveness poles. Those cooperative projets
are supposed to be financed by special public
funds (FCE, AII).

To be one of the major players in the homeland
security and maritime environmental risks, To
develop a global offer of products and innovative
services to improve the reliability and the
availability of naval means To be recognized at
a world level as a centre of expertise in the
knowledge and monitoring of the maritime
environment. To develop corresponding offers of
services. To be a cluster of excellence in
subsea technologies, applied to deep sea oil
exploitation To insure the synergy of these
activities with sea related tourism, in respect
to sustainable growth.

• To identify the European maritime clusters or
  equivalent structures to the Pôle Mer and build
  with them cooperation agreements .
• To prepare our members with FP7 .
• To adhere to the European technological platform
  Waterborne, support on the regional permanent
  representations in Brussels...
• To contribute to the consultation on the Green
  Book of the european maritime policy
