Provideam Data Capture

• Sometimes it is not possible to communicate
  directly with a machine.
• E.g.
• Manual Machine
• Old Machine
• Machine where comms would be too expensive
• In this situation Provideam recommend using the
  ProvDAQ which allows the user to monitor
  electrical signals on the machine to determine
  the state of the machine.
• If the machine stops and the reason for the stop
  cannot be determined from these signals it is
  possible for the operator to indicate a reason
  via the illuminated pushbuttons. (For example if
  the machine is stopped because the material
  quality is poor.)

Advanced ProvDAQ

• The Advanced ProvDAQ is a more sophisticated
  alternative.
• During normal running the HMI screen is green.
• When the Machine Stops the screen colour changes
  to red.
• If the stop reason is not known, then Not
  Logged is displayed as the stop reason.
• The operator can then enter a reason by selecting
  the appropriate reason on the HMI

Advanced Integration

• Even with machines which are highly automated it
  is sometimes necessary to allow for some manual
  stop reason assignment.
• For example if the machine is stopped for a
  planned reason, such as Operator Training.
• This can be facilitated in several ways.
• Pushbuttons at machine such as ProvDAQ
• MMI at machine for example Advanced ProvDAQ
• SCADA at machine eg modify existing SCADA at
  machine.
• It is best to choose a method which suits best
  the individual machine and its environment
  rather then using one blanket approach.
