correctly, we develop important skills such as
  • Correct use of the language in a conversation
  • Listen and answer correctly, story telling read
    aloud
  • Identify and connect sounds to words
  • Correct use of new words
  • Understanding of what has been read

  • Teaching language sounds
  • Teaching the alphabet
  • Reading to their children everyday
  • Helping children write the relation between word

  • As soon as children start learning the meaning of
    the words, reading becomes something stimulating
    and comforting.
  • While supporting reading with games, songs,
    rhymes, puzzles and riddles parents and teachers
    help children to enjoy even more the language.
  • Developing a good reading habit, it is going to
    lay the foundation for a lifetime skill.

How can I recognize a good reading program at
school?
  • Teachers must show enthusiasm and promote the
    value and importance of being a good reader.
  • Starting Kindergarten, every student must take
    assessment tests, to identify their knowledge and
    skills needed to become successful readers.
  • Reading practice and instruction should be
    present 60 minutes a day for students in
    Kindergarten, and 90 minutes a day for 1-3 grade
    students.

How can I recognize a good reading program at
school?
  • Every student in 1-3 grade, who is behind in
    reading, should receive special instruction and
    practice in reading.
  • During reading practice and instruction, students
    learn to combine letters and sounds in order to
    make up new words.
  • Students have to practice spelling daily and take
    weekly tests.

school?
  • The connection between reading and writing must
    be taught daily.
  • Every classroom must be equipped with a book
    collection. The school library should be used
    frequently. Students should be allowed to borrow
    books.
