CHALLENGES

• Our IPCU provides care and treatment to the
  following patient groups
• Inpatients from Acute wards who can no longer be
  managed safely, due to levels of violence and
  aggression or frequent absconding.
• Low Secure patients.
• Forensic patients/Restricted patients.
• Mixed sex patients.

Purpose and Process

• A.I is a form of action research.
• A process was undertaken with the staff and
  relevant others involved in providing care in
  IPCU and the findings.
• Purpose of this is to identify areas of good
  practice and identify actions for change.
• Focus on what already works well within a system,
  appreciating the best of what has been within the
  organisation, to encourage large scale change.
