What is Assistive Technology?
  • An Assistive Technology Device is any item, piece
of equipment, software or product system that is
designed to increase, maintain or improve the
    functional capabilities of individuals with
    disabilities.
  • An Assistive Technology Service directly assists
an individual with a disability in the selection,
acquisition or use of an Assistive Technology
    Device.

49
Background and Overview

  • Raising the ceiling on purchases under the SPS up
to 250,000 (subject to certain conditions)

53
Key Changes to the SPS (continued)
  • Permitting purchases of 5,000 or more to be made
    based on two (2) Bids
  • Requiring that Certified Small or Disabled
Veteran Business Enterprises should be used
    whenever possible and
  • Establishing criteria and procedures for
