National Incident Management System (NIMS)
  • NIMS implementation is being coordinated in S.C.
    by SCEMD (POCs Mike Elieff Mike Russell)
  • Federal funds should be used to support NIMS
    implementation at state and local levels
  • Establish a NIMS baseline Where are we now?
  • Establish a timeline and develop a strategy for
    full NIMS implementation

In order to receive FFY06 funding from SLED
the following must be met and certified by each
county.

National Incident Management System (NIMS)
  • Minimum FY05 Compliance requirements for all
    South Carolina state and local governments (by
    May 2006)
  • Become familiar with the NIMS through Awareness
    Course
  • (Completion of IS 700 by agency heads,

  • Formal adoption of NIMS (suggested by local
    ordinance, executive order, legislation or
    resolution)
