  • Cause Bacteria called Clostridium chanvoei.
    Bacteria produce spores which can travel to
    muscle tissue. Animal can die within 24 hours of
    showing symptoms.
  • Symptoms Lameness, swollen legs with black
    discolouration, high fever.
  • Prevention Vaccine available, every six months.
  • Treatment None.
