The situation

• Dateline rented a house, wired it with hidden
  cameras.
• Volunteers posed as teens in chat, claiming that
  they were home alone and wanted to have sex
• These volunteers pretend to be 12- 14 year olds.
  They post a young looking picture

Predators

• Most are normal people, married with children
• Most claim that they thought the kids were older
• All 18 men that came claimed that this was the
  first time that they had come
• Some had a mentally disturbed and one was a fire
  fighter.

• 1 in 5 minors are approached online by predators.
  
• Internet predators start by making you think that
  they are your friends.
• Girl was killed by a man she met online.
• Most places for meeting are at the mall.
• 50,000 predators looking for victims all the
  time.

What can be done about it?

• Parents talk to their children about it.
• Know what your children are doing on the web
• Volunteers like the Perverted Justice are
  working full time to catch these predators.
• The national justice people like the FBI and
  others are working hard to stop it.
