  seeking acting jobs
• Ended up becoming a fashion designer instead,
  working as a model and going to night school for
  design

• First big break was designing for Youth Guild,
  and Margot dresses both teen clothing companies.

• By the early 1950s, Anne Fogarty popularized the
  paper doll silhouette a tiny waist with big,
  full skirt
• Petticoats were a very important element in Anne
  Fogartys designs

  skirt (in addition to her signature paper doll

Wife Dressing

• Anne Fogarty wrote a book called Wife Dressing
  The Fine Art of Being a Well-Dressed Wife in
  1959, educating housewives everywhere on how to
  be fashionable!

• The style of the 1960s reflects some of Annes
  earlier style for teenage girls
