Where the Apaches Lived

• The Apache moved from Canada to America in 1200
  A.D.
• They settled in the southwestern section of the
  U.S.

• An Apache family lived in a brush home called a
  wickiup.
• A small hole was left in the top of the wickiup
  to let smoke out.

• A couple was considered married if the brides
  family accepted the gifts the grooms parents
  offered them.
• The groom moved to the brides mothers camp
  after they were married.

• The women wore tanned deerskin wraparound skirts.
• The men wore tanned deerskin breechcloths,
  buckskin leggings, and shirts with beads.

• They also made a drink from corn called tulapai.
