• Learn about the organization and its structure
• Know what you want from it and what you can give
  back to it
• Get to know the key players
• Dont be shy about questioning anything in their
  organizational meetings
• Get yourself assigned to key committees
• Dare to question the status quo
• Learn key terms (out of the box, shifting
  paradigms, forward thinking, explore the
  unknown, blaze new trails, dare to be
  different)

• If you want to lead the band you better know how
  to read music!
• Set yourself up as the go to person. (aka
  known as the corporate turnaround specialist)
• Volunteer for the tough jobs

• Share with management information of value to the
  organization
• Do not brown nose!
• Never be afraid to ask questions
• Stay connected with those you work with and those
  who work for you
• Write and update your resume regularly

• What is your personal mission or goal?
• What is your experience (include date range)?
• What is your education and training?
• What are your interests?
