Seven Hills Mission
  • Seven Hills Elementary will teach the intended
    curriculum, assess and monitor students
    progress, help students and parents set goals
    based on clear expectations, and
  • provide appropriate safety
  • in preparation for a rigorous
  • middle school curriculum.

Internet Grade Viewing
  • You can use the same login and password that you
    used last year.
  • New students to Seven Hills have been issued a
    letter with the parent login and password.
  • If you have lost or do not know your password you
    can call the office.

Conferences
  • We will have at least two parent/teacher
    conferences this year. One in the Fall and one
    in the Spring.
  • You may start signing up TONIGHT!!
  • Our Fall conferences will be completed by October
    11, 2010.

As a Parent at Seven Hills I can help my child by
  • Making sure my child is rested and prepared for
    school each day.
  • Knowing how your child is doing by communicating
    with the teacher by STAR binder, email, in person
    or by phone.
  • Monitor your childs homework and make sure study
    time is in a quiet place.
  • Limit TV viewing and read together daily.
  • Be an active participant in your childs
    education.

As a Parent at Seven Hills I can help my child by
  • Reading EVERY night, refer to Reading teachers
    website for extra support.
  • Practice spelling patterns.
  • Practice math facts (flash cards, games, etc.)
  • Practice real life things like counting money,
    telling time, measuring, etc.

Benefits of Homework
  • HW may be assigned throughout the week. Homework
    should take no more than 30 minutes.
  • Students should read at least 20 minutes every
    night.
  • Math-Practice and repetition is very important.

  • They record reading every day!
  • Reading at home counts toward Million Word
    Challenge. Parental Initials are required on the
    log.
  • Logs are checked 1x per week.
  • Reading books Library books come home weekly.

    can turn into writing and the reoccurring themes

  • We will take benchmarks to assess how students

  • Recess 1215-1230
  • We have a full day and work up until 245. It is
    very important that your child is here on time
    and stays to the very end of the day.
