    death.
  • Must be diagnosed by a professional.
  • Not a physical disorder!

  • Very thin and lean
  • Not a lot of fat or muscle

  • Large body frame

Signs of an Eating Disorder
  • An emphasis placed on the persons weight and
    appearance as means of being loved and accepted.
  • Believe that changing their weight or appearance
    will be the key to their success.
  • Believe that their weight is one of the most
    important factors that contributes to their
    identity.

  • Bulimia Nervosa
  • Characterized by eating large amounts of food,
    then purging to get rid of extra calories in an
    unhealthy way.
  • Self-vomiting, misuse of laxatives, excessive
    exercise.
  • Anorexia Nervosa
  • Obsessive about the food they eat
  • Thinness Self-worth
  • Battles hunger with excessive water consumption
    to feel full and exercise.

  • Muscle Dysmorphia (Bigarexia)
  • Extreme exercise for long periods of time
  • Never satisfied with muscle gain (never big
    enough)
  • Paranoia of losing muscle mass
  • Compulsive Overeating (Binge Eating)
  • Frequent consumption of large amounts of food
    usually done in secret
  • Unable to resist the urge to binge eat
