Stockholm Convention
UNEP decided to convene an Intergovernmental
Negotiating Committee (INC) to prepare an legally
binding instrument on persistent organic
pollutants (POPs). The INC completed work on
the instrument, the Stockholm Convention on
Persistent Organic Pollutants, in December 2000.
