Protagonist
  • The main character in a work of literature (or
    movies).

  • The character directly opposed to the
    protagonist.
  • A rival, opponent, or enemy of the protagonist.

Dynamic Characters
  • Someone who undergoes an important, internal
    change because of the action in the plot.
  • Usually, but not ALWAYS, the protagonist.
  • Examples Scrooge from The Christmas Carol,

  • Someone whose personality doesn't change
    throughout the events in the story's plot.
  • These are usually side characters.
  • Examples The sisters in The Little Mermaid,
    Robin in Batman, Tibelt in Romeo and Juliet.

    among the people conversing
  • Varies according to the various speakers
  • Gives relief from passages essentially
    descriptive or expository
