• The data falls into categories which have no
  inherent sense of order.

Possible questions What colour is your hair? How
did you get to school?

Ordered discrete data

• The discrete data values have an inherent sense
  of order.

Possible questions What is your shoe size? In
what month were you born?

Grouped discrete data

• When there are a large number of possible
  discrete data values, the data values may be
  grouped in some way to make the information more
  manageable.

Possible questions How many pieces of fruit do
you eat each week? (0 2, 3 5, 6 8, 9
11 etc) How many pencils are in your
pencil case? (0 4, 5 9, 10 14, 15 -
19 etc)
Notice the use of equal class intervals.
