• It is important for your child to become an
  advocate of their own learning. Encourage your
  child to come to the teacher with their questions
  and concerns. I am available for your child in
  the morning before school, during recess and
  after school except the times I have yard duty.

Homework

• Reading 20 minutes every night reading is
  critical and should be the most important piece
  of homework your child does.

Homework

• Spelling activities are Mon Thurs with a
  spelling test on Fri. at school. Spelling is
  done online at Spelling City. We will be focusing
  not only on spelling patterns, but also on Greek
  and Latin root words as well as affixes.
• Math homework is assigned Monday Friday. On
  Friday, time will be given to complete the math
  homework, but if it is not done by the end of the
  day then it will be required to be completed over
  the weekend. Homework can be accessed online.
• Social Studies and Science homework will assigned
  when needed.

Grades

• Parents and students will be able to access
  grades online.
• Approximately 75 of grades will be based on
  students projects and tests.
• Approximately 25 of the grades will be based on
  homework and classwork.

• If a student is having difficulty following
  classroom or school rules. The student and I
  will work together to modify the behavior. If
  the student continues to have difficulty I will
  contact you.

Attendance

• The first bell rings at 745 and students are to
  be in their seats by 750.
• We work right up to 220.
• Please schedule vacations and doctor appointments
  during nonschool days or after school.
