  • Everyday Math teaches students to develop
    strategies for modeling and managing problems
    while understanding their use in and out of the
    classroom.

MATH GOALS
  • BEGINNING GOALS (B) Students may not be able to
    complete work independently. They show little
    understanding of the concept or skill.
  • DEVELOPING GOALS (D) Students show some
    understanding. However, errors or
    misunderstandings still occur.
  • SECURE GOALS (S) Students can apply the skill or
    concept correctly and independently.

  • High Number Toss
  • Goal (D/S) Read and write numbers to
    hundred-millions
  • Player 1 _ _ _ / _
  • Player 2 _ _ _ / _
  • Player 1 rolls the dice and writes the digit on
    any one of his or her spaces. Player 2 rolls the
    dice and does the same thing. Players keep taking
    turns until all the spaces are full.

  • Player 1 6 1 2 / 4 6,120,000
  • Player 2 1 3 1 / 6 131,000,000
  • The first 3 spaces are the first 3 digits of your
    number. The last digit is how many zeroes are
    added to your number.
  • Remember to read your number when you are
    finished!
  • The player with the highest number and READS it
    correctly earns a point.
  • The player with the most points wins the game.
