Homeostasis

• It is the process by which our body keeps the
  internal conditions relatively constant despite a
  change in the external conditions
• The systems work together through a series of
  feedback loops to keep the level of fluids,
  gases, salts, nutrients, pH, and temperature
  within a narrow range.
• Most feedback loops within the body are negative
  feedback loops, such as a thermostat in your home.

A Negative Feedback Mechanism
It gets to warm and the thermostat turns off
It is too cold in the house
The thermostat turns on the heater to warm the
house
